We’re Meg & Marni aka Bai & Elle ( Bai & Elle are our middles names and we thought they sounded good together, so the name stuck.) You don’t hear of many friends becoming photography duos, but having survived working onboard cruise ships as photographers we knew we could take on anything! We both have the same approach when it comes to photography, to capture things as they are, in the most beautiful way. We both however have slightly different eye for composition, angles and lighting, which come together nicely to create our signature Bai & Elle style.
Photography is an art, and our passion. To us photography isn’t just about documenting whatever is in front of us, it’s about creating a beautiful set of photographs for you to enjoy and appreciate for years to come. Images that find the beauty in ordinary, unexpected moments captured in the most authentic way. So when you look back in years to come, you’ll remember it all. The warmth, the laughter, the fun, the crazy and the magical.
I'v been playing with cameras since I was a little kid, remember fisher price cameras? Yep I had one of those. In fact I still use the Polaroid camera I got for my 10th Birthday. I fell in love with dark room printing in school and went on to study photography at university. I took a few breaks and tried a few things but my love affair with photography endured, nothing makes me happier.
When I'm not behind the camera you can find me with my nose in a good book ( the bigger the better), making/drinking cocktails, playing uno with my sister or just generally milling around with my friends and family.
My love of photography started after a photoshoot for my friends 13th birthday. I was convinced I could be just as good if I brought a awesome camera (sadly mistaken). But it didn't stop me! I carried on learning, shooting and falling in love with photography. In between this I attempted a business degree, but realised I had no heart in it, joined a ship as a photographer and the rest is history.
When I'm not shooting you can find me drinking a unhealthy amount of tea. Acting like a big kids with one of my 24 cousins (being the eldest has it advantages) or bursting into song with my little sister.
